Entrepreneurial Burnout

Overwhelm

In my How to Hire the Best book series (and in many of my conversations with just about every entrepreneur I meet), the topic of overwhelm and entrepreneurial burnout comes up routinely. We've already been there, live it daily, or are nearing the point of it.

My intent in writing the books on attracting and retaining A-Players is to free up the mind and time of the entrepreneur while building value in their business. By building the right team, we create buy-in from our people who will advocate for our business and elevates us out of the day-to-day operations.

Mindset

My mission is for all business owners to take a 4 Week Vacation™.  This doesn't mean sipping margaritas and bumming on the beach (although it can if that's what you desire). A 4 Week Vacation sets your business to survive without you. This means you must have the right systems and people in place in order to leave the business for any period of time—expectedly or unexpectedly. You get to explore more of yourself, outside of your business. You can work on hobbies, your other passions, your family, or whatever rejuvenates you.

Build up that tacit knowledge.

In order to avoid or fix the overwhelm, we have to find ways to innovate. Perhaps we need to review our sweet spot, refocus our vision, create new systems, review roles and responsibilities, or refocus on the appropriate target audience.

At Tap the Potential, we focus on processes, people, and profits. Every entrepreneur began their company with a vision, a purpose, and/or a need. Once the company proves its potential and shows growth, we begin to realize (quickly) that we may be out of our element. We don't know everything about running the business around our talent and passions. So, we need the appropriate advisors, we focus on hiring, and we wonder how to make it all happen because…well, cash.

Before you know it, you're chasing your tail until you feel like throwing in the towel and wondering why you began this business in the first place.

HOLD THE PHONE!  STOP RIGHT THERE!

Before you think that all is lost, and especially if you're reaching entrepreneurial burnout, take our assessment. Let's figure out where you really are. With a solid plan, accountable wins, and the right people to support your dreams, you are on your way to reaching your full potential! The first step is admitting where you are. Next, we build an action plan around your dreams.

We believe work supports life, not the other way around. Next, we send them off on a 4 Week Vacation™ to celebrate their hard-earned journey to take their life back!

Dr. Sabrina and her team at Tap the Potential are on a mission to change the story of entrepreneurship from one of long hours, grinding it out, to one of sustainably profitable businesses that support and enhance life. The Tap the Potential Solution™ and our Tap the Potential Family of Business Owners are disrupting small business as usual. We are on our way to making the Tap the Potential Solution™ the mainstream model for growing business.

By 2023, 150 Tap the Potential clients will have taken 4 Week Vacations. These are the trailblazers, role modeling what’s possible for entrepreneurs. In many entrepreneurial circles, it is becoming more and more common for one entrepreneur to ask another, “Have you taken a 4 Week Vacation™?” (as opposed to asking “How many employees do you have?” or “What is your annual revenue?”). Taking a fully unplugged 4 Week Vacation is rapidly becoming the recognized symbol of entrepreneurial success.
