  • I value loyalty, team spirit and closeness with others.
  • I enjoy seeing others grow and want to motivate them to excel.

Meet Melissa

Lead Strategist

Melissa Swire is a Certified Life Coach, Certified Director of Operations and Marketing, and has worked for Tap the Potential since 2019. She served as a corporate Director of Operations for 18 years and had to pivot her career after her husband was injured in Iraq serving our country. She instantly became the breadwinner for her family, yet also needed the flexibility to be a full-time caregiver for her husband.  Lovingly often referred to as “a force of nature” Melissa is always up for a challenge and turns her biggest obstacles into opportunities. Melissa opened an Etsy shop in 2012, and within nine months grew the business to a top 1% worldwide shop, ranking 1779 of 2.5 million shops! Yet she quickly fell into the survival trap, working seven days a week, spending sleepless nights thinking about payroll, marketing, the never-ending task list, and spending little time with family and friends. She sought after the sweet spot of her business, and made another pivot.

Recognizing the need of small business owners to free up their time and develop systems for their business, she embraced the role of a business strategist. It became her burning desire to help entrepreneurs break free from the struggle of the business that keeps them from enjoying what matters most.  As a Certified Pumpkin Plan Strategist, she helps business owners to identify their vision and strategy to break out of the survival trap to succeed personally and professionally.

Melissa thrives in helping leaders see their potential, think outside of the box, and dream big! Her training as a Chief Question Officer empowers her to bring out the best thinking, collaboration, action, and results using the Q-Work Approach, a system that optimizes engagement, productivity, communication, collaboration, innovation, and results for individuals, teams, and organizations.

Her favorite thing about working with Tap the Potential is hearing testimonials from our clients sharing how our Better Business, Better Life coaching program has helped them show up better in life and with their families. (And getting to work with the best.team.ever.)!

Growing up I spent a lot of time around my parents' flower shop and it has made me aware of the common denominator involved in achieving success – passion. At Tap the Potential I see firsthand how determined people are to help entrepreneurs succeed personally and professionally, which is something that I have always been interested in.

When observing dynamics at my parent’s shop, I noticed specifically how employees interacted and operated, how much they had an impact on my parents' lives, the shop's success, and how they contributed to the overall energy of the workplace. At Tap the Potential they truly have brought all the ideas I have been pondering for years about employee dynamics and company success to life.

The opportunity to watch and take note of how a firm operates has opened my eyes to the business world and my future. My ultimate goal is to help business owners achieve their goals in a healthy and efficient way. Acknowledging that with growth comes hardship, and watching the Tap the Potential coaches help clients is something that I am grateful to observe and passionate to do.
