 Leadership Bootcamp

Effective leaders in a small business propel the business forward by leaps and bounds. You need employees who are your allies in transforming your business into a “Great Place to Work!”  You need employees with a strong foundation in the 3 Pillars of Effective Leadership…

…Leveraging the greatness within themselves to be an asset to the business, while tapping into the greatness within others to achieve extraordinary outcomes, and who understand your business, where it’s going, and their role in taking it there.

You need employees who know how to think like an entrepreneur, identifying risks and opportunities, to make strategic recommendations from their unique perspective in the business (because they see what you don’t see!).

You need employees who are able to look at the financials of your business, understand the story the financials tell, and take appropriate action or make appropriate recommendations.

In Leadership Bootcamp, Dr. Sabrina Starling brings her unique experience as The Business Psychologist™ to tap into your employee’s strengths to quickly transform a good employee into an invaluable asset to your company

Leadership Bootcamp is an ideal opportunity for me. My employee who went through bootcamp is now doing things that no employee has ever done. I’ve probably had 100 employees over the last 20 years — even people who are still employed with me, who have been with me for 18 years — she is far and away exceeding my expectations of what an employee could create and could take on.”

Here is an overview of the topics covered in Leadership Bootcamp:

  • Identifying and leveraging personal strengths to add value to the business
  • Being aware of  ‘Achilles Heels’ that interfere with success
  • How to work around your own ‘Achilles Heels’ and those of your team members so that they do not undermine you and the team.
  • How to improve communication with customers, fellow employees and your supervisor.
  • What is profit? Why is it important in business? Why do you want to work for a profitable business?  What is your role in driving the profit of the business? What opportunities do you have to impact profit?
  • Who are top clients and customers? What do they most need and want from our business? What opportunities do you have to add value by being attentive to the needs and wishes of top customers?
  • When you have so many things on your plate, how do you prioritize what gets done? What is the most valuable task you can be working on right now that will have the greatest impact?
  • What is it really like to work in a small business? Why is this a unique opportunity for you to advance your career?
  • PLUS…each employee is assigned a ‘Secret Mission’ each week to look for ways to add value in the business by utilizing their strengths and engaging the strengths of team members.

The Return on Investment for my participation in Leadership Bootcamp is indescribable. I feel that the  investment Mr. Bailey is making in me will produce more results and better outcomes overall. I am actively working on strengthening my weaknesses and exploiting my strengths to best suit our company needs. I now spend more time assisting employees who produce, instead of spending copious amount of time training problem employees. I’m actively determining the 20% of our customers that produce 80% of our business. This includes being sure that we service these customers to determine what needs they have that we currently are not providing.”

I’ve been through many leadership courses and schools with the Air Force. Leadership Bootcamp is different. I knew what my leadership strengths are. I knew I could lead. What I got from Leadership Bootcamp is that the hammer doesn’t always have to be the first tool out of my toolbox. You don’t always have to hammer a square peg into a round hole. I don’t have to go at mach speed. I am taking time to figure out the best solution for the situation at hand. Being a naturally dominating person, I am now working on being more approachable.

I see myself taking on a different role. I need to be more of a follower versus a leader. We’re all followers and we’re all leaders at different times in life. It’s knowing when to play the right card. At this point, I need to be more of a follower and go with the flow. This allowed me to sharpen my follower-ship. I don’t have to lean forward so much. It’s more peaceful. It’s not as stressful. When you’re always leaning forward and pressing forward, you don’t look around. You miss out on a lot of things. You don’t appreciate life.

What I appreciated most about the course was the application to my personal life. All the other leadership training…personal life was not brought into it. Your course has made a significant impact on my personal life. I’ve brought more peace to my life. I’ve slowed down. I’m seeing that everything doesn’t have to be rushed or solved immediately. Just slow down and breathe, don’t get all worked up about things.”

“…just Priceless”

“I hired an assistant who was so capable that I turned her into a bookkeeper. Recently, I sent her through Leadership Bootcamp. Leadership Bootcamp not only uncovered the things that she was struggling with in the company and helped her to grow and move forward, but it also helped her in her personal life, which is really big to me.

I want to make sure that all of my employees have that work-life balance where they love their job, and they want to come back to it regularly because I invest in them, while they provide top-notch service to my clients, they make my life easier, and they’re dedicated and loyal.

When you bring on an employee, you’re presenting this gem to them, that you’ve worked your whole life on, and you’re saying, ‘Hey, nurture, and love, and care for this as I do.’ You try to figure out how to convince them to do that. You worry they are going to burn out.

Since my employee has gone through Leadership Bootcamp, those worries we have as business owners are gone. I know she’s not going to get overwhelmed, she’s not going to burn out, she’s going to know how to handle certain situations, and if any challenges come up, she’s going to feel more than comfortable communicating those to me.

The other thing that I got out of Leadership Bootcamp that is just priceless, is she now stands where I stand. She can guide the other employee and future employees in the company, and I don’t have to be the only voice that is being heard saying, ‘This is the business structure, this is the business process, this is how we communicate with our clients, and this is how responsive we are.’

She now leads by example, not only through her actions, but through her words, and I don’t have to be the only one sayingthese things. I’m confident that the level of professionalism that she is displaying is to my satisfaction.

Leadership Bootcamp brought these things out of her. It was something that was there, she just didn’t know how to piece it together, and I didn’t know how to communicate how I wanted her to piece it together. Leadership Bootcamp was a great experience for her to do on her own. I was involved and learned how to support her, and continue to support her, but I wasn’t there telling her how I expect her to be. She developed this on her own through Leadership Bootcamp.”
